A very talented psychotherapist, Laila Presotto, is offering two Neufeld parenting courses in the community this October. I have taken both these courses despite not having children yet, and  have seen a huge impact in my relationships both in my work and personally. Fall is my favorite season, and a time to eat warming dishes on cool evenings. But it’s not an excuse to load up on fat-filled favorites. Experiment with herbs and spices and make good use of fall produce, then you can enjoy healthy but satisfying low fat meals.

Health Promotion
Kinesiologists working in the health promotion industry focus on working with individuals to enhance the health, fitness, and well-being of the individual. Kinesiologists can be found working in fitness facilities, personal training/corporate wellness facilities, and industry.

Clinical/Rehabilitation
Kinesiologists work with individuals with disabling conditions to assist in regaining their optimal physical function. They work with individuals in their home, fitness facilities, rehabilitation clinics, and at the worksite.

Physical activity and nutrition subsidy initiative

The BC government is interested in the long term health of British Columbians. Now Squamish residents  are eligible for a one-time subsidy of up to $50 towards a physical activity or nutrition program. This could include a gym membership, physical activity based recreation program, or personal nutrition counselling, after a health risk assessment from their physicians. Physical activity programs must be administer by either a CSEP fitness professional or a BCAK registered Kin. For more information and how to submit your claim visit Health BC’s website here.
